HOOVER DAM EXHIBITS
Xplore Design worked with Wells Resources, Advanced Resource Management, and Malone Design & Fabrication to completely redesign the exhibit hall for the Bureau of Reclamation's Hoover Dam Visitor Center. The project took nearly 4 years to complete, including the initial planning and concept phase. The exhibits showcase the amazing story of why the dam was built, how it was constructed, how it works, and the lasting impacts it has had since its opening dedication on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Xplore Design art directed all the 2-D surface designs, and completed several technical illustrations that explain in detail how this architectural and power generation marvel actually work.
The gallery consists of 3 major sub-themes, includes over 130 graphic panels and signs, several life-sized re-creations including a 'walk-in' generator and a full scale replica of one of the cement buckets used in construction.
The overarching thematic concept was "A Marvel of Engineering and the Human Spirit."
